Ethics & Confidentiality
I am a Senior Accredited practitioner with the BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy) both as a clinical supervisor for groups and individuals and as a counsellor/psychotherapist.
I work to the BACP code of ethics and good practice – copies available at www.bacp.co.uk
Counselling is a confidential service and I hold the individual client’s rights to autonomy and personal choice in high regard.
However in cases where there may be significant risk of harm to an individual or those around them or in cases where a child may be at risk I may have an ethical and moral responsibility to breach confidentiality to ensure safety.
